The word rare has been tossed around E-Bay like a rubber ball. Here is a car that is not only rare, but historic. The Car is a 1964 Chrysler 300 K. There were 3902 Chrysler 300 K's produced and out of those 3902 there were only 346 made with the 390HP 413 cubic inch Ram Induction engine (282 coupes and 64 rag tops) making this one of 282 produced. How many are left after 50 years? The car is one of the famous Chrysler high performance letter series cars. Being produced in 1964, it is a K; the second last letter car in the series, and being that the '65 M was just a badge car with no engine performance options offered. It is the last of the high performance letter cars.
Due to my age and health I have desided to sell my baby. This comes after a few years of "Should I or shouldn't I?" I'm going to hate to see it go, (so buy it quick before I change my mind) but winter is coming and I'm going to have to put her in storage soon. There is no rust that I know of, everything works except the radio. the clock, and the owner.
The ignition system and carburetors have been updated for reliability; the twin point distributor has been replaced by a Mallory Uni-light ignition system. The twin Carter AFB's havebeen swapped for Edelbrock 750's with electric chokes. All the originalparts that were taken off the car are in good condition and go with thecar. That includes carburetors, air cleaners (chrome), choke cable, and distributor.
Most of the front suspension has been rebuilt (this includes upper and lower ball joints/bushings, tie-rod ends, etc) and all brakes have been totally rebuilt. (spring kits, shoes, drums etc) Last month I had the valves adjusted (a big job on the ram induction engine$600) The body is in very good shape except for the roof. The primer is exposed in several areas from thinning original paint. I received an estimate for repainting the roof (approximately $800) Theinterior is damn good for a 50 year old car, the real leather seats remindme of a comfortable old leather jacket, no rips or tears , but the foaminside is starting to turn to powder as one would expect.
Thanks for looking!
Any more questions? E-mail me. I'm open to offers - don't be shy. I would rather see it go to a good home then make a big profit.
By the way the car has won over 60 awards (some pictured) and the engine never fails to draw a crowd.
